A new year brings the start of the product cycle as retailers make the trek to Nuremberg and New York to see and handle new items. For Käthe Kruse this always means the introduction of some new items and gives us a glimpse at which existing items will continue to be available throughout 2016.
Of course dolls, are the first attraction in the Käthe Kruse booth in Nuremberg. Perhaps the biggest news here is not the dolls themselves, but the transition to more functional packaging. The clear cellophane windows are removed, the inside of the carton is designed to look like a play room, and the carton becomes a part of the play value of the doll in addition to display and storage.
Nuremberg captures the unveiling of a revamped Waldorf line, the return of organic items, and a new antiallergenic series. There is overlap too as all Waldorf items are now also organic. This makes sense as Waldorf has always been handcrafted from all natural materials. Waldorf accessories are now available and includes clothing sets - a much asked for product.
Plenty of new items in the cloth toy category this year and you can get a first glimpse here. The "Discover the World" series features items specifically for girls and also for boys. The series includes many of the toys we're used to seeing like towel dolls as well as new items with pockets for hide-and-seek play.
