Emil is a 17 inch doll modeled from the character in the book “Emil and The Detectives” by Erich Kästner, written and published in 1929. He and his friend Pony fight for justice in Berlin’s milieu together. Emil is dressed for city life and wears his dark blue Sunday suit with a white shirt and a knit sweater. He feet are ready for exploring in comfortable walking shoes. On his head he wears his matching Gatsby cap. Emil has a shaped composite head, hand painted brown hair and face, and his soft body is hand stuffed with reindeer hair. Emil and Pony are replicas of Doll I first introduced in 1913.
